1. Who we are

This website is operated by Guangzhou Shanyi Media Co., Ltd. (广州山艺传媒有限公司), registered in Guangzhou, China, operating under the brand SHANYI Model ("we", "us"). You can reach us at hello@shanyimodel.com.

Where we process personal data of individuals located in the European Union or the European Economic Area — for example when working with modelling agencies in Paris or elsewhere in Europe — we do so in compliance with the General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR) and other applicable data protection laws.

2. What we collect

  • Enquiries. If you contact us by email or through our enquiry form, we process your name, agency or organisation, email address and the content of your message. The enquiry form itself does not store data on this website — it opens your email client.
  • Model candidates. Aspiring models who apply to us share identification details, measurements, photographs ("digitals") and videos. We collect this information only for scouting and placement purposes.
  • Published model profiles. Photos and basic measurements of candidates are published on this website only with the model's prior written authorisation, and are removed upon request.
  • Technical data. This website does not use tracking cookies or analytics at launch. Basic server logs (IP address, browser, pages visited) may be processed by our hosting provider for security and operation.

3. How we use it

  • To respond to agency and partner enquiries.
  • To evaluate, prepare and — with written consent — introduce model candidates to modelling agencies.
  • To operate and secure this website.

We do not sell personal data, and we do not share it with third parties beyond what is necessary for these purposes (for example, sharing a candidate's profile with an agency that candidate has authorised us to approach).

4. Legal bases (GDPR)

Where the GDPR applies, we process personal data on the basis of: consent (e.g. published model profiles); steps taken at your request prior to entering a collaboration (e.g. responding to enquiries); and legitimate interest in operating our business (e.g. basic communication with partner agencies).

5. Storage and transfer

Data is stored with appropriate technical and organisational safeguards. Where data of EU residents is transferred to China or elsewhere, we apply appropriate safeguards in accordance with applicable law.

6. Retention

  • Enquiry correspondence: retained for as long as the business relationship continues, then deleted.
  • Candidate material of candidates we do not proceed with: deleted within a reasonable period.
  • Published profiles: published for as long as the model's authorisation remains valid; removed immediately upon withdrawal of consent.

7. Your rights

Subject to applicable law (including the GDPR for individuals in the EU/EEA), you have the right to access, rectify, erase, restrict or object to the processing of your personal data, and the right to data portability. Models may withdraw their publication consent at any time by contacting us — withdrawal takes effect without delay.
